Jackie Farnell, Certified Aromatherapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Licensed Esthetician, developed a program utilizing essential oils and essential oil blends to enhance the lives of seniors residing in various care facilities. Her first area of focus was people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The concept grew to include a wide range of residential programs including nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and hospices. She then began working with at-home care providers to assure their needs were met. In the seven years Ms. Farnell had this company, she saw over 450 facilities utilize these oils and blends.
In March 2010, Jackie Farnell transferred the reins of Scents-ible Solutions to Cynthia Loving. Cynthia is owner of LovingSense Aromatherapy, LLC, an international instructor in Clinical Aromatherapy and a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (NC 1397) with a private practice in Greensboro, North Carolina specializing in integrative therapies. She was first introduced to Aromatherapy in the mid 1980’s. She graduated into advanced studies with master practitioners from around the globe in 1990, and has been teaching this modality since 1995. Cynthia has and continues to serve as an Aromatherapy instructor and consultant to hospitals, long term care facilities, hospices, a wide range of healthcare providers, businesses, educators, spiritual leaders, and lay persons.
LovingSense Aromatherapy, is comprised of two divisions – Scents-ible Solutions and LovingScents. We are dedicated to offering the blends created by Ms. Farnell and to build on the strong foundation she put in place. We also recognize that frequent and/or long terms use of a substance can lessen its effectiveness. Therefore, we are introducing some blends and singular oils as alternates to the original formulas. We also wish to address other challenges common to people residing in any type of supportive living facilities. These blends have been used and shown to be effective for people experiencing a wide range of challenges.
We are asking for your input. Please share your experiences with these blends and/or other essential oil products. Ask us questions…we are happy to assist you. Let us know what other areas you would like to see addressed with the use of essential oils. Contact us concerning specific residents presenting with unique situations – we also consult and formulate for individuals, whether a client, patient, resident, care provider, or loved one. Let us know if you have conducted or wish to conduct research…share your results with us. Together we can create a more welcoming environment and enhance the lives of many.
